PokéPark Kanto will be a new amusement park, opening in Yomiuriland (Japan, Asia) in the future.
Pokémon Co., Ltd. and Yomiuri Co., Ltd. revealed a new venture, PokéPark Kanto, situated in the nature-rich Tama region of Yomiuriland on Dec. 12. This park, rooted in the historic Kanto region of Japan, known for hosting the first Pokémon Red and Green games, aims to be a global gathering place for Pokémon fans. The goal is to create an inclusive space where fans from around the world can connect, transcending national and language barriers. Yomiuriland, established in 1964, has a history of collaboration with Pokémon, notably with Pokémon Wonder in 2021, which allowed visitors to explore nature and search for Pokémon in the grass.
While there’s excitement about PokéPark Kanto, the announcement lacks a confirmed opening date. The Pokémon franchise continues to evolve, extending beyond games to include anime, DLC, and live-action drama, such as Pokémon Horizons. The Universal Studios collaboration at Universal Studios Japan is uncertain in light of this new park. Fans on social media speculate about additional PokéParks, considering past closures of similarly named parks in 2005 and 2006 in Japan and Taiwan. The longevity of these new PokéParks remains unknown.
